How to make Cheese Straws

Hey guys, so today's post is a little different but I hope it will be very useful. The other day I made some cheese straws and took some photos as I was doing them so I could show you guys !! If you want to see the method and ingredients without the pictures scroll right down to the bottom.

Step one: First you will need to get some puff pastry, let it warm up so it doesn't break when you unroll it. When it is warm roll it out and you are ready for the next step!

Step two: Break and beat an egg, you then paint some of the egg on to the pastry this will help the cheese to stick to the pastry.

Step three: Grate some cheese of your choice and sprinkle some cheese on to half of the pastry, it doesn't matter how much cheese you put on it depends on how you like them. Then fold the pastry in half by lifting the pastry half with no cheese and putting it on to the other half.

Step four: Cut the pastry in to about twelve small slices, you could make them bigger or smaller depending on you big you want them. Then picking up the slices gently twist them round decide how thin you want them the more twists the thinner it will be.

Step five: Next place the cheese straws on to a tray with grease proof paper and use some of the remaining egg to paint the top of the cheese straws, this is so you can sprinkle a little more cheese on top and it will stick.

Step six: Now put them in to the oven until they go nice and crispy and look a little like this, leave them to cool and then eat !!!!!
